We have an exciting opportunity to join Carr’s Billington Agriculture as an Agricultural & Rural Sales Specialist at our Bakewell Country Store.

We are a leading supplier of agricultural products to farmers in the UK with a large footprint of Country Stores and Machinery Depots.

The Job

To assist in the day to day running of the country store alongside an established team. You will ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and standards. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach and will be committed to the expansion and success of our company by implementing strategies that increase productivity and enable margin target achievement. The role will also require the successful candidate to take a proactive approach to their work and be willing to take on warehouse and delivery tasks.

The Job of a Transport & Sales coordinator is to assist in the day-to-day running of Jedburgh Country store – Working alongside our delivery, sales & branch team you will be focused on ensuring our customers have the best delivery service possible, whilst maintaining a efficient and cost-effective operation way of working. You will coordinate our own fleet of vehicles and 3rd party hauliers working across the Scottish Borders, Edinburgh Lothian, Lanarkshire & Further afield.

You will coordinate with our customers, sales and branch teams ensuring they are aware of when the deliveries will arrive and ensure forward planning of stock allocation.

You will have a hands-on approach and will be committed to the expansion and success of our company by implementing strategies that will increase productivity.

The Job

To develop machinery sales in our machinery depot based at Stranraer. You will work with brands including Massey Ferguson, Krone, Weidemann, & many more other leading names to offer customers a first-class service in supplying machinery & equipment.

You will develop long term relationships with customers through on farm visits & by utilising all types of communication.

Using tools such as CRM and a knowledge of potential customer requirements, you will work with attention to detail and go the extra mile to provide win win solutions for our customers & our business.

Qualities

Knowledge of the Agricultural Industry and Machinery in general would be advantageous. A positive attitude, resourceful nature and willingness to learn coupled with a desire to forge a long-term career within a large and well-respected employer is a must!

General Manager Skipton

Carr’s Billington is seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead and develop their branch at Skipton. Split across multiple buildings on the Auction Mart site and encompassing both the Agricultural and Rural Supplies and Machinery Divisions, Skipton is one of the busiest and most exciting branches in the network.

This is a completely new role as we position ourselves to build on current success and lead the team through a program of further developments.

The Job

To manage and further develop a highly successful and busy branch, supporting the needs of our customers and internal teams across the full product range offered by Carr’s Billington.

You will join an established team of experienced staff already employed within a large and progressive company and be responsible for all aspects of work within the branch on a day-to-day basis, being ultimately accountable for the whole site budget along with the Health, Safety and Welfare of all staff and customers.

You will report to the Regional Operations Manager and work closely with the Experienced Supervisors already in place at the Branch.

Experience & Qualifications

Knowledge of the Agricultural Industry and Machinery in general is very desirable along with previous people management experience. A positive attitude, keen eye for detail, resourceful nature, and willingness to learn coupled with a desire to forge a long-term career within a large and well-respected employer is a must!

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5pm and Saturday cover from 9-12am on a rota basis, governed by seasonal demands. Additional hours required as per business needs.

We are looking for either established sales people with the right attitude, who wish to further their career and we also welcome applications from new entrants to machinery sales who wish to forge a career path with a long established machinery dealer.

You will develop long term relationships with customers through on farm visits & by utilising all types of communication.

Using tools such as CRM and a knowledge of potential customer requirements, you will work with attention to detail and go the extra mile to provide win win solutions for our customers & our business.

From initial enquiry, through to demonstration, the sale and customer follow up, you will need to work closely with workshop’s, parts and existing sales teams to deliver the most comprehensive service to our new & existing customers.

Qualities

Knowledge of the Agricultural Industry and Machinery in general would be advantageous.  A positive attitude, resourceful nature and willingness to learn coupled with a desire to forge a long-term career within a large and well respected employer is a must!        Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude are key qualities required.

Full training & support will be provided both in house and with our range of suppliers.      A knowledge of Microsoft systems would be advantageous as we move to a more digital way of working.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5pm with some overtime required subject to business needs and seasonal demands including Saturday mornings. The nature of this role means a willingness to work outside normal business hours throughout the week and weekends when required.
