Carr’s Billington has a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Technician/Mechanic or an Apprentice to join its fast-growing Agricultural Machinery Branches at Skipton, Barnard Castle, Thirsk and Annan.
Consistent growth of our recently opened depot has led to this rare chance to enter the industry, we welcome applications from all individuals, but the position would ideally be suited to someone looking for a route into a technical role through in-house training or an Apprenticeship scheme.
To work as a Trainee Technician/Apprentice, reporting to the Workshop Foreman or Workshop Manager and supporting the needs of our customers and internal teams across the full range of products offered by Carr’s Billington including Massey Ferguson, Krone, Weidemann, Ovlac, Teagle and Stihl to name a few.
You will join an established team of experienced Machinery Sales, Parts and Technical staff and be involved in all aspects of work within the Service Department and the wider site. Duties will include Machine PDI and preparation, general service and repairs on all machines and customer liaison along with many other day-to-day tasks.
In addition to our key franchises, we also supply parts and accessories for any make and model of equipment and prepare and retail a selection of used machines from the site too.
Qualities and Experience
Some basic technical knowledge and/or operator experience of related equipment is desirable along with a full driving licence.
A positive attitude, keen eye for detail, resourceful nature and willingness to learn coupled with a desire to forge a long-term career within a large and well-respected employer is a must!
Full product and technical training will be offered to the right candidate. Apprentice Applicants will be trained via one of our selected colleges (subject to entry requirements).
Hours of work
Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5pm with some overtime required subject to business needs and seasonal demands including Saturday mornings.
