Trainee Apprentice Technician

Carr’s Billington has a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Technician/Mechanic or an Apprentice to join its fast-growing Agricultural Machinery Branches at Skipton, Barnard Castle, Thirsk and Annan.

Consistent growth of our recently opened depot has led to this rare chance to enter the industry, we welcome applications from all individuals, but the position would ideally be suited to someone looking for a route into a technical role through in-house training or an Apprenticeship scheme.

The Job

To work as a Trainee Technician/Apprentice, reporting to the Workshop Foreman or Workshop Manager and supporting the needs of our customers and internal teams across the full range of products offered by Carr’s Billington including Massey Ferguson, Krone, Weidemann, Ovlac, Teagle and Stihl to name a few.

You will join an established team of experienced Machinery Sales, Parts and Technical staff and be involved in all aspects of work within the Service Department and the wider site. Duties will include Machine PDI and preparation, general service and repairs on all machines and customer liaison along with many other day-to-day tasks.

In addition to our key franchises, we also supply parts and accessories for any make and model of equipment and prepare and retail a selection of used machines from the site too.

 

Qualities and Experience

Some basic technical knowledge and/or operator experience of related equipment is desirable along with a full driving licence.

A positive attitude, keen eye for detail, resourceful nature and willingness to learn coupled with a desire to forge a long-term career within a large and well-respected employer is a must!

Full product and technical training will be offered to the right candidate. Apprentice Applicants will be trained via one of our selected colleges (subject to entry requirements).

 

Hours of work

Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5pm with some overtime required subject to business needs and seasonal demands including Saturday mornings.

Technician Annan

Carr’s Billington are seeking an experienced and motivated Agricultural Technician to join the workshop within our expanding Machinery offering at Annan.

This is a very rare opportunity to join a new Workshop with the support of large and experienced manufacturers and a network of specialists already employed elsewhere in the company.

The Job

To work in the Agricultural Machinery Workshop as a technician. Supporting the needs of our customers and internal teams across the full product range offered by Carr’s Billington at Carlisle. Including Massey Ferguson, Krone, Weidemann, Ovlac and Stihl to name a few.

You will be involved in all aspects of work within the Service Department: Supporting new and used equipment both in the depot and on customers premises. Duties will include: Machine PDI and preparation, general service and repairs and customer liaison.

We are a leading supplier of feed and agricultural products to farmers in the UK with a large footprint of Country Stores and Machinery Depots.

We are currently looking for field sales specialists with experience in the following areas:

  • Fertiliser
  • Animal Health

  • Agricultural and Rural Supplies

The Job

To develop, grow and maximise the profitable sale products to customers and prospects within an agreed Sales Policy and Sales Territory. To maintain a current Sales Ledger. To achieve the agreed budget and target levels in terms of both volume and margin of manufactured feed and agricultural supplies required through the effective management of the territory customer base and prospects. To implement marketing strategies and ensure sales targets are met whilst developing and growing the Sales Territory. To contribute to the effective operation of the business as an integral member of the sales team and the Carr’s Billington team as a whole.
