Maximum performance can
only be achieved
when there is optimal animal health. However,
high stocking rates, as a result of husbandry
system or seasons of the year, increase the
environmental challenge to the animal and
with it the risk of disease challenge.
Many Carrs Billington
sales personnel are
qualified under the AMTRA scheme, which
together with their field experience under
the guidance of the company pharmacists
makes them well qualified to give impartial
advice over the wide range of animal health
products covered in this catalogue.
Large stocks of
most manufacturers’ products
are carried at all times for every species of farm
animal including dairy
and beef cattle, sheep, horses, pigs,
goats and poultry. Other products are
usually quickly obtained.
Items marked ‘PML’ are (Permitted
Merchant list) pharmaceutical products as
defined under the 1968 Medicines Act and
sales are restricted to licenced premises to
persons who have charge of animals as part
of their business. All Carrs Billington
branches are listed under the Medicine Act. Items marked ‘P’ can
be sold from a
registered pharmacy.
The same act (as amended in 1985)
makes it illegal for us to sell any medicine
which has been opened or stored on
unlicenced premises. Thus animal health
products cannot be credited or replaced
once they have left any of Carrs Billington
premises. This applies to all animal
medicines, sheep dips, and all vaccines
etc. We regret inconvience this may
cause, but it is a guarantee to all
customers that the medicines they buy
from Carrs Billington are to the highest
pharmaceutical standards. |
